Motorcyclist Casualties

The two age groups showing the most worrying trends are UNDER 21 years and the 36-55 YEAR-OLDS. A study of accident causes has shown that most:-

Under 21 year-olds have accidents

  • On urban roads
  • Using an under 125cc bike
  • Colliding with a car
  • Driver of car failed to see motorcycle.
  • Driver of car failed to judge speed of motorcycle.

For over 35-55 year-olds they have accidents

  • On rural roads
  • Using a motorbike over 125cc
  • Only the motorcyclist was involved
  • When they are travelling too fast
  • Due to poor judgement
