Secondary Theatre in Education

Theatre is an effective means of conveying information and exploring concepts with road users of all ages.  Research has shown that Theatre in Education is particularly suited to dealing with social pressures and alternative behaviours.  Plays should be seen as an integral part of the curriculum and as a way of further presenting the road safety message.

Road Safety Scotland commissions Baldy Bane Theatre & Media to develop and deliver theatre tours for secondary schools throughout Scotland.  The tours are organised in partnership with local Road Safety Units.

Support resources for schools, linking to the national educational guidelines, are being developed by Road Safety Scotland, covering pre-performance and post-performance work.
